Langley Hotel Gustavia is one of our most iconic hotels, located in the very cente of Chamonix. It is home to Chambre Neuf, one of the best après-ski bars in town. It has also been the ideal accommodation for skiers and travelers since the 1890’s – we are happy to carry on the legacy.
Next to the local train station, you will find the appealing Langley Hotel Gustavia. You will also sense the feeling of vintage alpinism, blended with modern décor. The hotel has been a home abroad for skiers and travelers since the 1890’s – we are happy to carry on the legacy.
Gustavia lies conveniently close to the center of Chamonix, as well as the ski bus stop. The closest lift is located just 300 meters from the hotel. All the activities Chamonix has to offer are just a stroll away when staying here. This includes restaurants, shops, and the majestic mountains surrounding the village.
The bright rooms are certain to fulfill your needs during the stay. Whilst being functional in many ways, comfort is still of essence. Some of the rooms have been completely renovated to fully grasp the clashes of classical and modern design that have come to define Gustavia. Most of these are equipped with balconies facing Mont Blanc.
The first floor is home to our library, where you can enjoy a book in the warmth of a fireplace. If you are looking for more action, head over to the bar, Chambre Neuf. In the afternoon, people around the village gather here for the best après ski Chamonix has to offer. You won’t be disappointed!
The restaurant serves a locally inspired three-course meal each evening. We believe in the saying that you cannot ski well, if you do not dine well. This also applies to our appetizing breakfast buffet, which will give you the right start to another day in one of the most sought after villages in the French Alpes.

For most people the first thing that comes to mind when they hear the name Chamonix-Mont Blanc is alpine skiing. And quite rightly so, the legendary Grand - Montets was once described by a famous Swedish skier as the best mountain for skiing in the world. And that is only a fraction of the area. There are the southern slopes of Brevent/Flegere, Les Houches with its renowned downhill slope, and of course, for the more adventurous skier, the Aiguille du Midi.
In the heart of alpinism, of course climbing plays a big part. Some of the world’s best climbers are born and raised in Chamonix, and there is no coincidence that the world’s very first mountain guide association, “Compagnie des guides de Chamonix”, was founded here as early as 1921.
But you don’t need to be a professional to appreciate the climbing, there are routes of all difficulties and a number of schools that are happy to give you an introduction.
In 1741, the first tourists to Chamonix were transported to Montenvers on the backs of mules in order to admire the glaciers. Today, the Chamonix valley is a Mecca for hikers at all levels, from a couple of hours walk on “petit balcon sud” to a week’s trail through three different countries when attempting the “Tour de Mont Blanc”
Golf in Chamonix? No it is not a joke, the golf course nestles between the Mont Blanc range and the Aiguilles Rouges. You would think that playing golf in the alps would be more of a hike in the mountains, but no, the 6188 meter Robert Trent Jones Senior creation meanders like a snake through the valley and is well worth a visit. But be careful, you might admire the scenery so much that you forget your golf game.
In the heart of Chamonix the brasserie and bar of Hotel Gustavia, Chambre 9, provides a friendly alpine atmosphere and a high-quality menu.
The restaurant offers a menu with inspiration from the French and Scandinavian cuisines. Focus is on using only high quality products and provide a personal experience.
The bar in Chambre 9 is somewhat legendary in Chamonix with one of the best after-skis in the area. Our live band deliver a great performance 6 days a week and the atmosphere is truly electric. A must for those who appreciate a good after-ski party!
