CHAMONIX - MONT BLANC, FRANCE
Hotel Grading LevelHotel Grading LevelHotel Grading Level

In the heart of Chamonix and very close to the train station you’ll find the Langley Hotel Gustavia, a charming, comfortable, fifty-room hotel with great atmosphere and a marvelous view of Aiguille du Midi and Mont Blanc.

Langley Hotel Gustavia, Chamonix

Built in 1890, Langley Hotel Gustavia is a significant landmark in the Chamonix valley. Many of our rooms has a fantastic view of Chamonix’s greatest attraction, Mont Blanc. With its 4810 meters it is the highest summit in western Europe.

The rooms are warm and comfortable, several of them with balcony overlooking Mont Blanc and varies in size from one to five persons.

On the ground floor you will find the restaurant, where our generous breakfast buffet is served, as well as a wonderful set three-course dinner in the evening. There is also our conference room with meeting facilities for up to 25 persons.

You must not miss a visit to one of Chamonix’s most famous bars, Brasserie Chambre 9 (in the early 20th century the hotel consisted of only eight rooms therefore quite naturally the bar became “room 9”) for a nice lunch, an evening cocktail or in the winter, the best after-ski in the French alps.

SKIING

For most people the first thing that comes to mind when they hear the name Chamonix-Mont Blanc is alpine skiing. And quite rightly so, the legendary Grand - Montets was once described by a famous Swedish skier as the best mountain for skiing in the world. And that is only a fraction of the area. There are the southern slopes of Brevent/Flegere, Les Houches with its renowned downhill slope, and of course, for the more adventurous skier, the Aiguille du Midi.

CLIMBING

In the heart of alpinism, of course climbing plays a big part. Some of the world’s best climbers are born and raised in Chamonix, and there is no coincidence that the world’s very first mountain guide association, “Compagnie des guides de Chamonix”, was founded here as early as 1921.
But you don’t need to be a professional to appreciate the climbing, there are routes of all difficulties and a number of schools that are happy to give you an introduction.

HIKING

In 1741, the first tourists to Chamonix were transported to Montenvers on the backs of mules in order to admire the glaciers. Today, the Chamonix valley is a Mecca for hikers at all levels, from a couple of hours walk on “petit balcon sud” to a week’s trail through three different countries when attempting the “Tour de Mont Blanc”

GOLF

Golf in Chamonix? No it is not a joke, the golf course nestles between the Mont Blanc range and the Aiguilles Rouges. You would think that playing golf in the alps would be more of a hike in the mountains, but no, the 6188 meter Robert Trent Jones Senior creation meanders like a snake through the valley and is well worth a visit. But be careful, you might admire the scenery so much that you forget your golf game.

CHAMBRE NEUF

In the heart of Chamonix the brasserie and bar of Hotel Gustavia, Chambre 9, provides a friendly alpine atmosphere and a high-quality menu.

The restaurant offers a menu with inspiration from the French and Scandinavian cuisines. Focus is on using only high quality raw materials and provide a personal experience.

The bar in Chambre 9 is somewhat legendary in Chamonix with one of the best after-skis in the area. Our live band deliver a great performance 6 days per week and the atmosphere is truly electric. A must for those who appreciate a good after-ski party!
