Tignes

Tignes is a part of the same ski area as Val d'Isère. Where Val d'Isère is famous for luxury and five star hotels Tignes is famous for its ski-bum culture and the collective love of everything related to the mountains.

Tignes actually consists of three villages. Tignes 1800 which is the lowest village followed by Tignes-Le-Lac, where our hotel is, and lastly Val Claret which is the highest of the villages. Each village has its own charm and Val Claret is the largest of them. Tignes-Le-Lac has the beautiful lake which, naturally, is frozen over in the winter but in the summer creates a beautiful blue-green contrast to the surrounding mountains.

The skiing area is spectacular with the famous Grande Motte glacier with an impressive altitude of 3 653m. Thanks to the glacier Tignes offers year round skiing. The liaison to Val d'Isere is quick and easy, you need only take a few lifts and runs to cross over to the other village.

Both Val Claret and Le-Lac offer a variety of restaurants, bars and night clubs for those wanting to explore the night scene. Our own restaurant Tignes 2100 Alpine Kitchen has since its opening become one of Tignes most popular restaurants.
